I have to say, this story reminded me so much of 7’sCarlet. From certain background scenery, to the elements of the story itself, it is quite clear that the same folklore was used to inspire both this story and 7’sCarlet. Not only that, but did you know that 7’sCarlet’s opening song is called “World End Syndrome?” Now that minds have been blown, I don’t want to compare them any further, both did rather well as a standalone story, with their own twists and turns.

MC arrives in a town, running away from something he would rather forget. He moves in with his cousin, only to immediately hear about the strange stories that surround the town - a mysterious phenomenon known as “World End Syndrome,” where the dead walk among the living.

I enjoyed this story a lot, and I was glued to it for most of the duration. The ending made me cry like a child.

MC was a little too apprehensive for me in the beginning, but over time I began to understand his behavior more. Otherwise, the characters are kind of stereotypical for a story like this, but lovable and I really enjoyed their company. Especially Kensuke drove me nuts, but grew on me like fungus after a while.
