In this beautiful city where it is always raining, MC is learning a magical instrument at a famous music academy. The music is playable in a rhythm game, piano style on your computer. (This is the part where I would torture you and make you practice for hours while I cackle maniacally. Merciful that I am, and knowing you have to play perfectly for a good ending: all you have to do is check a box in options, and music parts will play themselves!) MC has a little fairy at his studio apartment that sings with him, and he has a fiancé back home that he writes to. Meanwhile, he needs to find a partner to sing along as he performs for his final graduation exam. Seems uncomplicated, right?
I really liked MC, unlike many of his male counterparts, he isn’t just some pervy guy great at everything with a bunch of girls fawning over him. He’s quiet and a bit indecisive, but steps up when needed in the greatest way. I cheered him on several times while reading, heck I would date him in a heartbeat. The story starts out calm and sweet at first, but the themes that emerge later on are gut-wrenching, make sure to stock tissues and be aware if you have trauma. The final twists will blow your mind, I guara-freaking-tee it! Also, the art is unique and beautiful, music is fantastic, the girls interesting. It’s a darn good read.
