Otome Game Review
So, I finished up an otome game and since I’m playing in Japanese, I figured I’d do mini-reviews for this group. This way you can discover games you maybe would like to play for Japanese practice or for fun. I won’t get into much detail. Just a basic picture.
Plot: Lisa Bernet is young bounty hunter working for a big organization called Grimm. She is the student of an incredibly famous bounty hunter-turned-mediator named Bremen and dreams of becoming a mediator just like him. Although she’s young, she has something a lot of seasoned bounty hunters don’t have: Monstrous Strength. Yep, she can send you flying with one punch. One day, she infiltrates a mansion to stop a hostage situation and she meets the dashing thief Rapunzel. From then on, she goes on to meet other strange criminals and a sinister plot about Grimm starts to unfold.
General thoughts: One of the lesser known QuinRose titles, this is a darker take on some famous Grimm fairy tales. I would say it was quite average. The game was very wordy describing in great details the heroine’s feelings and some scenes, and it was exhausting after a while. But it had more choices than your average otome nowadays, which was refreshing. The plot was not that interesting (the stakes are not as high as in Collar x Malice for example), and some scenes were nonsensical at best, but some of the comedy was great. It was also quite steamy and, yes, Lisa has sexy times with her guy and even a 3P(!) route with Hansel and Gretel which was hilarious. My favourite routes were Rapunzel and Jules. Rapunzel is bae, he’s miles and leagues better than the others!
