MC, an orphan since the earthquakes that rocked Shibuya 6 years ago, is investigating murders with the help of his friends. Full of dark imagery, mystery and creep factors, this horror novel really rocked me to the core. The amount of twists and turns, and gory details (emphasis on gory) are not for the faint of heart. There are several character routes to explore, but there are also general endings that do not involve romance of any kind. And not all romances get a happy ending which was particularly rough on me.

Choices are made by choosing positive, negative or neutral outcomes - and that is where things get interesting. Depending on what is chosen, there is some sort of change to the scene. However, positive doesn’t always mean best, and negative doesn’t always mean worst, and some things get spooky, some things get pervy, and some things just get weird. This choice system is rooted in the story itself, so I cannot explain what it means - the story will get there on its own. The high level story quality isn’t surprising, the same devs made Steins;Gate (not just an anime but a visual novel), which I am not sure I’ll ever be ready to play after how this one turned out. I must say, however, the story, the twists and the characters were absolutely marvelous!
