Incomplete Reviews

I am just giving brief mobile game backgrounds, I’ll mostly hold off on opinions because I try to finish the whole game before complaining and complimenting. Not necessarily in that order. Once I finish the games they will get their own page, too. It may take me a while though, my progress on mobile games is slow. I prioritize full games and don’t like mobile games. They are (generally) broken up, so it’s too hard to get the story - and I also refuse to give them money. More often than not, non-mobile game stories tend to have better quality, too.

I'm also adding a list of all the games in my current backlog just to have more Otome Games listed.

After School Affairs by Voltage

Being teachers that work together is awful, because neither the students nore the teachers are allowed to date! Of course, MC can find a way around that with her current teaching partner. After following the story of Shinichi, Hidetaka, and Kyonori, whom I adored, I was ready to date my very first student (a late addition to the series, as this student tries to pursue MC in one of the other storylines, I guess Voltage wanted to offer that option after all). Chiharu, the student, made it not weird, which helped.

Ayakashi: Romance Reborn by Voltage

MC finds out that she is a reborn priestess who can make contracts with the Ayakashi that surround her, and just in time too, as the people around her keep being possessed. She needs to exorcise them, and fast! As this is a card collecting game, I have not gotten very far. The story, however, is actually quite enticing and I would like to see more of it.

Dangerous Fellows by StoryTaco Inc.

I just started this one, it’s a zombie apocalypse theme which I haven’t encountered much of in Otome. The story is actually quite gripping and I like that its a simple ruby system, they do require occasional grinds or purchases but it’s simple and can be read continuously.

Enchanted in the Moonlight by Voltage

I did not get far in this one at all, so far I’ve only read Miyabi, and I found him a bit much. That kind of set the tone of the game for me. I did want to come back and look into some of the other stories, I’m pretty sure I still have some I bought during a sale that I have not yet read.

In your Arms tonight by Voltage

This one I wanted to get further into, I liked the whole concept of recovering from a bad divorce after MC is cheated on. This is something that hasn’t come up much in visual novels. I read Shohei’s story so far, which wasn’t so much my thing. I already read Tsukasa, and he was adorable. Neither of those are the headline guys, ironically. I am not actually interested in the main rebound guy, but I wanted to know how the reconciliation story with the husband turns out. One day I return to see it!

Kissed by the Baddest Bidder by Voltage

KTBB appears to be one of Voltage’s most popular stories from what I’ve seen, so I did go check out a few of the stories contained within. MC works at a hotel and accidentally gets herself sold in a black market auction. Then she finds out who bought her, and how this would change her life. Eisuke, who appears to be the flagship guy of all of Voltage, was an interesting read to be sure and I can see the appeal. He’s basically Bruce Wayne minus the batman, with a pinch of 50 shades. The person I really needed to read about, however, was the Mad Hatter. He was an extremely unique character and I enjoyed his story immensely! Finally, I played Ota, whose pursuit proved amusing, as well. The charm of these characters so far aside, however, I did find the premise of being sold a smidge perturbing, even though most of the stories that I’ve seen so far are anything but. I need to finish before I comment more, though, after all I said I would refrain from opinions on the stories.

Love Letter from Thief X by Voltage

I always had a thing for thieves that announced their approach. Like Lupin fron CR, or Joker from Persona 5, for example. So this was bound to be fun and I need to finish reading the stories I’ve bought. So far I have read only 2. I found Takuto lovable, and Hiro’s shenanigans were fun to follow!

Mr. Love Queen’s Choice by Elex

This one drove me a bit nuts, so many different currencies and events to track became overwhelming for me after a while. I can see the appeal, but it takes a lot of effort and work to get to the story so my progress is going very slowly. The story does have potential, and so do the characters, so I hope to catch up one day.

My Forged Wedding by Voltage

Yamato, Kunihiko, Ren and Takao are the stories I finished so far. The premise of “moving in with a guy to pretend to be his wife” for whatever the reason, was cute in this execution. I liked Ren’s and Yamato’s story so far. Let me put it this way, I once had a chance to buy voltage merchandise, and the only thing I grabbed, was a Ren keychain. ‘Nough said.

Irresistible Mistakes by Voltage

After a drunk one night stand, MC needs to figure out if a relationship is possible with this man that she woke up with, or if it is just a mistake after all. Pretty simple plot, there’s not much more to it. I’ve completed Go, Shunichiro, Taku and Toshiaki so far. Recently, I think I heard they added more characters, so I need to look back into it.

Our Two Bedroom Story by Voltage

LeGasp! Stop the presses! MC’s new roommate is her male co-worker! That lapse in judgement aside, the comical rom com way this plays out is also very cheesy. So far I’ve only read about Chiaki who grew on me rather quickly, and Kaoru who is pretty cute.

Rose in the Embers by Voltage

In an attempt to enter a more historical setting this game reflects the Taisho era in Japan, where MC is now working as a maid in a new house. So far, I only read Takahisa’s story and that was hook line and sinker enough for me. I do need to go back and catch up on the others I bought.

Seduced in a Sleepless City by Voltage

As an editor of a women’s magazine, MC encounters quite a few famous people. Especially when she is assigned to interview and examine parts of their life. I am only one story in. Yuzuki was a bit of a wild card, and I found it quite amusing to have his brother try to seduce you into a relationship.

Seven Rings by Voltage

This is basically My Forged Wedding 2.0, only MC is a lot “fancier” in terms of heritage, this time around. Therefore, they seek her marriage not for problem solving, but their own gain. Ren and Yamato from MFW revise their personalities and overall looks as MC’s childhood friends, and as I really liked Ren, I may read this take on him someday. But the only story I’ve read so far was Kai, and I wasn’t all that excited about him. In fact, compared to MFW which was cute, this premise seemed a little predatorial.

Scandal in the Spotlight by Voltage

As the title suggests, this is about a scandalous MC who sleeps with idols. Okay, not quite so crass, she is their ghost lyric writer after the original disappears. Over time, she gets to know the singers and falls for one of them. So far I completed Ryo, Nagito, Iori and Takashi. I liked Nagito so much more than I anticipated. On the other hand, Ryo really disappointed me, I expected so much more from him.

Wizardess Heart by Shall We Date

Shall we date drives me a little nuts, waiting for story tickets to recharge every day, but it does become handy to fill in moments during the day with. I do feel sometimes the intervals are too short. So far I completed Joel’s story. It was cute, nothing super exciting. I’m now working on Luscious.
